TAX SPECIALIST

Johnson Matthey is looking for Tax Specialist (Специјалист за даноци) to join our progressive Finance team at the Autocatalyst plant in Skopje who will report directly to the Financial Controller. In this role you will assist in the preparation of all monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings for state processes. You will be accountable for meeting local requirements related to Tax.
Key responsibilities:
• Ensure tax and regulatory compliance in a timely and accurate manner
• Prepare and submit timely and accurate monthly VAT return and provide any required evidence and documentation related to tax audits
• Submit withholding tax report timely and accurate. Calculation and reconciliation of withholding tax quarterly and review with the external tax consultants
• Ensure that the company is in compliance with all requirements related to Personal Income Tax
• Timely and accurate reporting to external stakeholders (Central bank, Statistics office, Macedonian and German tax authorities)
• Analyse the tax impact in the forecast and budget
• Advise colleagues from Finance and other departments on any indirect and direct tax issue and their impact on tax liabilities or business operations and address all necessary questions with external tax consultants and tax authorities where appropriate etc.
Are you the ideal candidate?
• University Degree / professional qualification in Accounting, Finance and/or equivalent
• Minimum two years working experience in Finance, preferably tax accounting and/or tax compliance
• Good understanding of domestic and EU tax legislative and regulations
• Self-motivated individual with a good sense of priorities and able to quickly understand concepts
• Ability to work to deadlines under pressure; developed problem solving skills; high attention to details
• Competent in using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point as a minimum), SAP will be an advantage
• Good communication skills in fluent written and spoken English and Macedonian
Working hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 – 16:30
