We use our scientific know-how to create innovative products that play a crucial part in reducing harmful emissions and improving air quality, helping our customers meet legislative requirements globally.

We are now seeking a pro-active Technical Engineer for PGM Salts (platinum group metal refinery) to join our Maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing mechanical maintenance activities of the plant, therefore the ability to conduct effective diagnostic and skills, on a wide range of plant and equipment is required. Having previous experience in chemical process industry would be an advantage.

Key responsibilities
• To provide a skilled execution of Planned, Reactive & corrective Mechanical maintenance activities
• To initiate new projects related to reducing downtime and improve production
• To provide support for EHS issues and to conduct the LEAN method.
• To analyse equipment reliability. To generate ideas for solving chronical issues related with equipment primarily on PGM (platinum group metal refinery) but if it is needed also in other area within the plant. To initiate solutions and to coordinate projects for improvements on this area.
• Control the work of contractors and maintenance team working within the projects.
• To initiate detailed investigations about the root cause of the problems, to raise an adequate containment and to find a better approach of maintaining the equipment.
• Participate in failure investigations, identify and report back reliability issues within the plant
• To support PPM (planned preventive maintenance) Coordinator on generate additional PPM tasks, to do revision of the existing if is needed and to make changes to increase PPM effectiveness.
• To initiate, manage small projects related with equipment functionality ensuring minimum lost time and maximum efficiency.
• To prepare technical documentation and document equipment changes
• To prepare procedures and risk assessments related to maintenance activities on equipment

Are you the ideal candidate?
• Mechanical or relevant technical background
• Demonstrable competence in a wide range of engineering skills and disciplines including, Pump, Vacuum and steam systems, Hydraulics & Pneumatics, Plastic & metal pipework
• Basic workshop experience including, fabricating, welding & machining
• At least 2 years’ relevant experience
• Demonstrable strong health & safety awareness
• Microsoft office, AutoCAD
• Demonstrable problem solving and strong analytical review skills
• Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills (ability to collaborate with a multi-department team)
• Able to work in complex (process chemistry) working environment
• Planning and organising skills
• Initiatives for improvement
• Fluency in English written and spoken

Working hours: Monday to Friday 08:30h till 16:30h if needed work overtime during weekend.
