Communications Manager
Part-time staff position
International Development Group LLC (IDG) is an international development consulting firm that assists donors, governments, and the private sector to achieve sustainable, broad-based economic development, and poverty reduction. IDG is the prime contractor on the five-year USAID Economic Development, Governance, and Enterprise Growth (EDGE) Project, a regional project covering 12 countries in the E&E region.
The project is based in Skopje, North Macedonia. IDG is seeking an experienced Communications Manager to join the project part-time. Qualifications and responsibilities are listed below.
Qualifications
Degree (minimum of a BA degree required) in communications, international development, or another related sector.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in roles focused on communications, with significant experience working in international development, preferably on USAID projects.
Understanding and experience with USAID projects, regulations, and compliance requirements desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
Fluency in English required.
Responsibilities
Prepare social media materials for USAID and EDGE social media tools (Facebook) including but not limited to: providing guidance to the EDGE team on generating content and compiling/editing content, designing and posting social media messages, development of EDGE social media strategy and supervising social media content related to the project activities and partners. This should highlight success stories, results achieved, and progress toward key indicators. Ensure that Facebook is updated on a minimum of a weekly basis.
Review news for digital clipping booklet highlighting the work of the project and partners, for accuracy and maintaining positive image of the project.
Maintaining project library of all communications tools, photos and events in a digital format
Prepare weekly Infoshare bulletin on regional and country specific competitiveness, trade and investment developments and disseminate it by e-mail to all Project stakeholders.
Design the EDGE electronic newsletter in collaboration with the EDGE team.
Coordinate and provide guidance to the EDGE team on producing content for the newsletters. Compile and revise content to include in the newsletters. Conduct interviews with project staff and/or beneficiaries and counterparts as needed. This content must include information on upcoming and past regional activities, workshops, and seminars as well as a depository of information and analysis produced under the contract, other donors, or stakeholders relevant to the technical areas of the contract.
Produce newsletters 4 times/year within timeline agreed with EDGE team.
