Background

USAID’s Partnerships for Economic Growth Activity aims to support economic growth inNorth Macedoniadriven by the private sector. The goals of this Activity are to increasemicro, small, and medium enterprises’ (MSME) productivity; create demand drivenprofessionals; improve access to finance for micro, small, and start-up firms and facilitateinvestments for MSMEs; strengthen existing public-private dialogue (PPD) mechanisms; andto improve North Macedonia’s regional economic integration. TheActivity will engage inresource partnerships with the private sector for the development of jointinterventionsand enterprise-driven solutions.

Purpose of Position

The Increased Productivity Assistant/Associate will support the Increased Productivity Component development and implementation, via identification of productivity challenges and opportunity areas based on market insight. Theperson will be working closely and under the supervision of theIncreased Productivity Lead and the Chief of Party. The employment opportunity islong-term, with a three-month trial phase.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Communication with Business Advisory Service Providers (BASPs) and companies (verbal and written communication with partners).
  • Organize and participate in field visits in the country.
  • Support the Increased Productivity Leadin identification ofpartners from the business sector for collaboration.
  • Documents administration and archiving.
  • Managing the pipeline of companiesapplied by the BASPs and assisted under the Productivity Platform.
  • Statistical analysis of project results deriving from the Productivity Platform component using excel data sheets and tools.
  • Assisting Monitoring Evaluation & Learning (MEL) manager with data collection and relevant data analysis.
  • Assist in writing and formatting quarterly reports, white papers, and other publications.
  • Technical assistance in organizing events including writing memos, articles, and reports.
  • Preparation of presentations, questionnaires, and other handouts.
  • Technical assistance in organizing workshops, conferences, and other events under the component Increased Productivity
  • Identification and drafting success stories deriving from Increased Productivity component.
  • Assist in maintenance of project library of all communications tools, photos and events in a digital format regarding Increased Productivity activities.
Finance & Administration
  • Scanning documents according to the request.
  • Archiving administrative documents.

Key Competencies Required:
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel)with the ability to learn new software.
  • Understanding of production processes, supply chain management, and productivity.
  • Graduated with a bachelor’s degree, preferably with an engineering background (mechanical, electrical, agricultural, chemical, etc.).
  • Quick learner and self-motivator, able to work both in team and independently once onboarded.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Experience of at least 1 year in private sector, or development organizations.
